Steve Davies, Marketing and Business Development Manager, and Tal Hopkins, Principal C&I Engineer/Technical Director, attended the one-day Exhibition and Conference.
Tal presented a hot topic at the conference, covering ATEX Inspection strategies for both fixed and portable equipment, highlighting the difficulties of managing the use of portable equipment, such as torches, gas monitors and mobile phones, given that they are particularly prone to damage or misuse.
Tal also spoke of the importance of have a proactive approach to managing ATEX Inspections and introduced some powerful, yet simple tools to optimise ATEX Inspection and Repair Policies.
He also advised that organisations have formal succession plans in place for the role ‘Responsible Persons’, and the benefits of maintenance managers and supervisors attending a CompEx Ex14 ‘Responsible Person’ Course at one of the many CompEx Training facilities across the UK to better understand the benefits of commitment vs compliance.
